I blame globalization for this one: In the old days, God just hated one people at a time. (Although one could make the argument that He hated almost all people during the time of Noah. But the earth was much tinier then.) God's just trying keep up with world capitalism. I speculate that He is concerned about a possible hostile takeover bid from the Tao. So he has got to expand, and hate is the "poison pill" measure to prevent the takeover. He is a shrewd god.
